Friday (tonight) Dance night

WARWICK – The town’s annual Old Home Days weekend begins tonight with the Recreation Committee’s annual dance for all ages, beginning at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Music will be performed by the band Space Bar. A donation of $5 for the band is suggested.

A game room downstairs will have chess, card games and others.

Ice cream will be available for $2 a scoop, with homemade chocolate and butterscotch sauces. Popcorn will be free.

Saturday Tag sale

The tag sale on the Town Common will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is free, but vendors must bring their own tables.

Open Mike

Anyone who wants to can perform from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Henry the Juggler will be performing this year.

Cookout

At noon the fire department will hold a cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs and fries to benefit the construction of a new fire station.

Old Home Days Dinner

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. at Town Hall. On the menu are pork loin, baked beans, coleslaw and brownies and ice cream for dessert. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children under 12 and free for children under 3. Proceeds benefit the Trinitarian Congregational Church.

Albert Einstein: Reluctant Superstar

A one-man show about the life of Albert Einstein will be performed at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Sunday Firemen’s muster

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. firemen from local departments will compete in a series of timed tasks for onlookers’ amusement. The fire department will sell hot dogs and hamburgers to benefit the construction of the new fire station.

Satellite toss

At 1 p.m. at Town Common will be the satellite toss, a relatively new tradition of throwing old internet satellites to celebrate the switch to broadband.

Corregatta

At 2 p.m. at Moores Pond will be the “Corregatta” cardboard boat race, in which contestants will try to race their homemade boats through a course. Many are expected to sink.
