Exploded View, a dynamic group of women artists and writers working together to create original performance and exhibitions, is curating a community art show called “PaperJam: A Month-Long Riff on Paper,” to premier at the Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls during the month of September.

Artists living in western Massachusetts are invited to submit artwork on, about or related to paper, its personal or local significance or their creative interpretation thereof.

To participate, email up to three JPEG images, with a brief description of each, including the title, dimensions and materials, along with your name, address and phone number, to explodedviewma@gmail.com by Aug. 22. The drop-off date for accepted work will be Sept. 1, with a reception on Sept. 9. Participants who are able to donate $5 to help with reception costs may do so at drop-off time, but there are no submission fees.

The Shelburne Arts Co-opinvites inquiries from local artists who are interested in submitting work for jury as potential working members. All art and craft media are considered.

Scripts

The Actors Theatre Playhouse of West Chesterfield, N.H., and Brattleboro, Vt., is accepting 10-minute play submissions for its Ten Minute Play Festival in June of 2019.

Ten-minute plays should include only one scene, have minimal scenic requirements, not exceed 10 to 12 pages in length and have two to six characters. Each contributor may submit up to two plays. Plays that have been produced previously are welcome, provided there are no encumbrances on them.

Scripts will be accepted through email at tenplays19@gmail.com until Sept. 30. Eight to 10 winners and alternates will be announced to all participants by early December.

No monetary prizes are awarded. Winners receive production of their play in the festival and multiple complimentary tickets.

Proposals

Eggtooth Productions is seeking proposals from artists for its 2019 Radical Interconnectedness Festival.

The production company invites stories that engage issues of race, age, gender, religion, economic class and other aspects of cultural identity that have been suppressed. A wide range of artistic expression will be considered such as music, dance, theatrical, visual, immersive and installation.

Commission is $500. Eggtooth will supply the venue, audience and promotions.

Footlights at the Falls is looking for help with its set and sound for the September production of “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. Ushers will also be needed.

Vendors

The Bernardston Kiwanis Club is seeking artists, craftspeople and specialty food purveyors for its two-day Scarecrow in the Park event on Oct. 20 and 21.

The booth fee for the two-day weekend is $45 per 10-by-10-foot space and $70 for a 10-by-20-foot space. It is expected that artists will commit to the whole weekend, however, a limited number of single-day applications will be accepted at the full weekend price.
