Behind a dominant performance on the mound from Caleb Thomas, the Turners Falls 12U baseball team picked up a nice victory Monday night.
Thomas struck out 10 in five innings, allowing just one hit as the squad blanked the Enfield Dirt Dogs, 2-0, in Mini Fenway Green Monster Tournament action in Belchertown.
Thomas had a no-hitter until the fifth inning, and Jake Jurek came on to toss a scoreless six inning and pick up the save for Turners.
Jurek, Jake Lavin, Ryan Demers and Brody Girard all had hits in the win, while Demers and Girard scored the team’s two runs on passed balls.
Turners is back in action in the tournament Thursday night at 8 when it meets Amherst.
