The eight 1st Franklin Representative District candidates are scheduled to appear in a pair of candidate forums June 12 and June 14 on opposite sides of Franklin County.
The Buckland and Shelburne Democratic Committees will sponsor a June 12 “Meet the Candidates” event June 12 at 7 p.m. at Mohawk Trail Regional High School on Route 112 in Buckland. The forum is billed as a “formal question and answer” session to present the eight Democrats who will vie to fill the seat of incumbent Rep. Stephen Kulik, D-Worthington, in the Sept. 4 Democratic primary. There are no Republicans running in the primary election.
The candidates are Kate Albright-Hanna of Huntington, Andrew Baker of Shelburne, Natalie Blais of Sunderland, Christine Doktor of Cummington, Jonathan Edwards of Whately, Casey Pease of Worthington, Nathaniel Waring of Sunderland and Francia Wisnewski of Montague.
On June 14, the Leverett Alliance will host a 7 p.m. forum at Leverett Elementary School on 85 Montague Road.
Following introductions by each of the candidates, they will meet with small groups of representatives to hear what issues are of concern before speaking to the group about issues raised.
