NORTHFIELD — A three-car crash at the intersection of Routes 10 and 63 sent two to the hospital Friday morning, Fire Chief Floyd “Skip” Dunnell III said.

At the scene, Dunnell said he didn’t think the injuries were serious.

Piled up, on the northbound side of the road, before where you can turn left onto Route 63, were a SUV, car and pickup truck. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to Northfield Police.

Noting the intersection can be troubling, Dunnell said, “Cars are traveling at 45 miles per hour and if one is stopped, it can make a pretty substantial impact.”

Northfield Fire Police and EMT, Bernardston Police and MedCare responded to the accident that first was reported around 11:10 a.m. Traffic was delayed and partially rerouted at the time. The scene was clear shortly after noon.
