Alex Sulda had himself a perfect Monday night.

The Turners Falls Athletic Club pitcher made headline news, tossing a perfect game in his team’s 5-0 win over Pipione’s Sport Shop in a Newt Guilbault Community League youth baseball contest at Campbell Field in Turners Falls.

Sulda struck out 13 batters and didn’t issue a walk. The TFAC defense made all the plays behind him, led by catcher Ryan Demers and first baseman Alex Knapp, who had five putouts there.

Offensively, Sulda helped his own cause with a double and an RBI. Demers added an RBI single, while Daniel Widmer contributed an RBI as well.

Pipione’s was powered on the mound by Jake Jurek and Logan Addison, who combined for nine strikeouts in an all-around well-pitched and well-played ballgame.

• In other action, Mason Lehtomaki struck out 11 and allowed just two hits as Greenfield Savings Bank topped Montague Elks Lodge, 10-6, at Gamelin Field.

Ollie Postera had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs, and Gabe Voudren tripled and drove in a pair. Johnny Marchefka singled, doubled and plated one run in the win.

Austin Sumner doubled for the Elks.

Frontier Ripken

New England Greenscape rallied in the sixth inning and Sasha Dragecevich hit an RBI single to plate the game-winning run as New England bested Yankee Candle, 5-4, in a Frontier Cal Ripken Youth League baseball game Monday night in Sunderland.

Tom Unkles pitched four strong innings for New England.

Claire Kirkendall had two hits for Yankee Candle, and Dylan Camp pitched two strong innings.

Mohawk Youth

Kameron Crowningshield had two RBIs Monday night to lead Rowe to a 14-11 win over the Buckland/Shelburne Braves in a Mohawk Youth League Minor Division baseball game.

Wyatt Sisum scored three times for Rowe, and Emmy Sisum pitched two strong innings.

Cole Cross homered and scored three runs for the Braves while Arlo Dube went 4-for-4 with two runs scored. Malcolm Briggs struck out two on the mound.

• Also Monday, Jackson Morey went 3-for-3 with a double to help the Buckland/Shelburne Padres to a 8-5 win over Ashfield in Ashfield.

Grayson Bishop struck out nine and had three hits in the win, and Ray Dyer plated a pair of runs.

• On Saturday, Carter Miller had a strong day pitching for Ashfield Astros retiring nine batters in a row at one point and Ashfield beat the Buckland/Shelburne Braves, 16-0, in a Minors Division game.

Braydin Coates hit a two-run triple in the win. Harley Allard had a strong game defensively at first base.

Dakota Cusimano went 2-for-4 in the loss, and Liam Walker had a strikeout on the mound.

Youth softball

Markie Vachula-Curtis, Chloe Bigelow and Sophie Petraccia all had two hits as the Purple Panthers edged Gilmore and Farrell, 5-3, in a Greenfield Girls’ Softball League Lil Nippers Division contest Monday night at Murphy Park.

Addison Talbot and Ivy Lopez were defensive standouts for the Panthers.

Olivia Hagar registered three hits for Gilmore and Farrell, while Lucia Yhodhinski added two hits.

• Meanwhile, Holly Meyers struck out 16 in the circle and the Diamond Dusters beat Crocker Communications, 7-1.

Madison Liimatainen doubled and singled in the win, and Taylor Greene tripled and singled.

Kelly Baird struck out 14 for Crocker and also doubled, and Rachel Wood drove in a run.

• In Nipper Division action, Sandra Johnson went 3-for-3 and Ashley Koscinski went 2-for-3 as Lundgren Honda beat Camelot Carpet Cleaners, 5-4.

Madison Lemay went 3-for-3 to pace Camelot, and Olivia Lemay finished 2-for-2.

Mark K. Memorial

Mike Griffin, Andy Chartier, Steve Prondecki and Barb Bennett carded a 64 to win the Mark K. Memorial Mixed Golf League at Oak Ridge Golf Club Monday night in Gill.

Tim Bernard, Doug Field, Norm Cousineau, Eric Oaks took second on the night with a 66.

Deerfield Academy improved to 5-1 on the season with a 13-4 victory over Northfield Mount Hermon School in a prep softball game Monday in Gill.
