NORTHFIELD — Today at 2 p.m., Trinitarian Congregational Church will host an a concert of four high school a cappella groups: one from Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in Orange, one from the Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield, and two from Union High School in Brattleboro, Vt.
Concert organizer Annie Chappell said that the program will likely be mostly pop music, with some deviations. Mahar’s group in particular tends to perform songs in other languages and from a variety of cultures, she said. The show will run about an hour. The concert is free, but donations will be collected at the door for the Northfield Council on Aging Summer Music series.
On Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. the Deerfield Valley Art Association will be celebrating its first year in its location at 105 Main St.
The gallery, home to the Museum of New England Art, Craft and Design, is open from noon to 4 p.m. but the reception will not begin until 1 p.m. The reception is open to the public.
The gallery’s current exhibit, titled “Mixed Messages,” features pieces in a variety of different media, including woodprints, lithographs, book art and calligraphy.
