Kameryn Dearborn went 3-for-3 with a triple at the plate and struck out six in the circle to help Greenfield Middle School to a 29-0 win over Mahar Middle School in a softball game Thursday afternoon in Greenfield.
Brielle Widelo struck out six and went 2-for-4 in the win. Lilly Ross also pitched and struck out three.
Faith Smith went 2-for-3 at the plate in the win, and Lexi Antonellis and Natalie Miscavage each had one hit.
Anya Roberts (catcher) and Hope Davis (outfield) played well defensively for Mahar.
Crush tryouts
The Franklin County Crush will hold tryouts for the 10U and 12U teams Saturday at 4 at Murphy Park in Greenfield.
Coach of the 10U team is Joe Gamache (978-413-3945) and the 12U coach is Kevin Ross (325-5471).

Trio of aces
Area golfers had to wait for the weather to cooperate to get on local courses but they proved to be plenty prepared for the start of the season as three golfers registered holes-in-one on Thursday.
The Country Club of Greenfield had one ace when Joe Golonka of Turners Falls holed his tee shot on the 145-yard, fifth hole using an 8-iron. Terry Blanchard, Dave Konopka, Jack Varner and Phil Reilley witnessed the event.
Northfield Golf Course had a pair of aces on the day. George Mount registered his third career hole in one on No. 6, while George Northrop aced No. 7 for his first career ace.
Suchanek Classic
The Tom Suchanek Baseball Classic Scholarship/Athletic Golf Outing will take place June 23 at the Country Club of Greenfield.
The four-person scramble tees off at 1 p.m. and costs $100 per person or $400 per foursome. Fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, snacks, dinner and door prize. Prizes will be awarded. Dinner tickets can be purchased separately for $35.

FC Babe Ruth signups
The Franklin County Babe Ruth Baseball League has three registration sessions scheduled at Abercrombie Field in Greenfield this week.
League officials will be at Abercrombie tonight from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and again on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
The league does not interfere with school baseball.

Post 81 tryouts near
Greenfield Post 81, which features both a senior and junior team, will be conducting registration and tryouts at Veterans Memorial Field at 2 p.m. on the following dates: April 29, May 5, May 6 and May 12. Senior team members must be 19 and under, while juniors must be 17 and under, by Dec. 31, 2018.
Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out. Players are encouraged to make as many tryouts as possible. Please bring your glove, cleats and birth certificates. Those players from a previous Post 81 roster must attend tryouts to be eligible for the 2018 team.
