13th annual Peter Cottontail’s EGGstravaganza: Saturday, March 31, at 1 p.m. (Snow postponement April 14 at 1 p.m.) at Unity Park, Turners Falls. Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to take part in this community tradition. Your kids will have an opportunity to get their pictures taken with Peter Cottontail, enter into a bunch of raffles, we’ll have a bake sale and of course enjoy our Egg Hunt where they will have the challenge of finding approximately 5,000 candy and toy-filled eggs strewn throughout the park. Tee Ball for children ages 4 to 6: Child must be at least 4 years before the start date of the program. Proof of age will be required at time of registration. When: April 21 to June 2. Saturday mornings 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fees: Early Bird Registration Fee: Montague Residents $35, nonresidents $40 (Last day of Early Bird rates this Friday). Regular fee: (Registrations after Friday), Montague residents $40, nonresidents $45. Registration deadline Friday, March 30, or until roster is full.
Nipper League Girls Softball: The Purple Panthers for girls ages 7 to 9. Early April to mid-June. Practices weekdays, days/times dependent upon coaches schedule. Games: Varies week-to-week (weeknights and Saturdays). Fees: Montague Residents $65, nonresidents $70. It is recommend Kindergarten players start with Tee Ball before playing Nipper League. We are members of the Greenfield Girls Softball League. All games are played at Murphy Park. This is a coach-pitch program. All players must bring their own glove; cleats allowed (nonmetal); Enrollment minimum nine; maximum 12. Registration deadline: Friday, March 30, or until roster is full
