GREENFIELD — The town’s Department of Public Works will dispose of residents’ Christmas trees free of charge.

Greenfield residents who receive curbside trash collection can place Christmas trees curbside for collection at no charge. The curbside collection period will last two weeks, from Tuesday, Jan. 2, to Jan. 12.

Christmas trees can also be brought to the Transfer Station at no charge for Greenfield residents. There is a $10 charge for nonresidents.

Transfer Station hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
