Bob Provost rushed for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns Tuesday as Greenfield Middle School defeated Mahar Middle School, 26-0, in football action.
Ryan Pulizari rushed for 45 yards and one touchdown for the Wave, and Drew Conant rushed for a touchdown and also completed a two-point conversion pass to Deion Brewington.
Eric Duong, Darien Dejesus, Trevor Gibb and Angie Rivera played well defensively.
Juan Lugo recovered a fumble for Mahar, which received sacks from Connor Sisson and Connor Sluder.
Erving League
Matt Deane and Bob Moco fired a round of 36 to win low-gross honors in the Erving League Tuesday at the Northfield Golf Club.
The net contest was won by Bob Thurber and Frank Penny with a score of 29.
Closest to the pin on No. 6 was Matt Deane at 25 feet, 1 inch, while Frank Penny was closest on No. 7 (5-9).
Deane was the match medalist with a score of 38 followed by Penny with a 39.
The Erving League Tournament is set for Oct. 14. There are still openings, all golfers are welcome to join the fun. Call the clubhouse for details.
DRIVE Girls’ Varsity
Tanner Mayze (12 points) helped Brattleboro to a 33-29 win over Keene in DRIVE Hoops girls’ varsity basketball action Sunday.
Justine Hayward’s eight points were tops for Keene.
• In boys’ middle school action in Northfield, Joe Thomson’s 12 points powered Frontier to a 30-27 win over Hadley.
Andrew Ciaglo (nine points) paced Hadley on the night.
• In the other middle school game, Jayden Fox dropped 14 points and Pioneer edged Vernon (Vt.), 39-30, in overtime.
Kyle Carpenter led Vernon with 11 points.
• Collin Boudreau’s 13 points paced Frontier in a 52-35 win over Hampshire in a boys’ JV game at SBS.
Julien Styles led Hampshire with 11 points.
• Finally, Gabe Gochinski led the Hawks to a 44-42 win over Northampton thanks to a team-high 15 points.
