The 23rd annual Don Maynard 5-Mile Road Race and 3-Mile Walk is scheduled will take place Saturday at the Green River Swimming & Recreation Area.
The race is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start. Runners/walkers can register online at www.runreg.com or go to the Maynard website (www.dmmrace.com). Online registration ends Thursday at 5 p.m. Day of race registration begins at 8 a.m.
Frontier M.S. clips Mahar
Austin Matthews scored on a pair of 60-yard touchdown runs but Mahar Regional School dropped a 34-16 decision to Frontier in middle school football action Monday in Orange.
Deavin McGivern tossed for a pair of two-point conversions for Mahar, connecting with Connor Knetchel and Xander Roberts.
CCG Ladies
Phyllis Canon’s 87 put her atop the First Division as Tuesday’s Country Club of Greenfield 18-hole Ladies League held a 4-Clubs and a Putter Tournament.
Sally Roberts scored the low net with a 71, while Donna Woodcock was the low-gross winner in the Second Division with a 103. Wendy Blanchard’s 75 was the low net in the Second Division.
Turners Falls seeks coach
