Andy Lesenski established a new course record at the Country Club of Greenfield on Saturday. Lesenski shot a 60 while playing at the 2026 Member Guest Championship.

The previous record was a 61, held by PGA golf professional Kevin Piecuch since 1998. Lesenski’s performance now places his name at the top of the Country Club of Greenfield record book.

“We congratulate Andy on this extraordinary achievement,” Piecuch said. “To surpass a record that stood for so many years is a significant milestone in the history of the Country Club of Greenfield.”

Chris Williams carded an ace on the second hole at the Country Club of Greenfield on June 13. Williams used a 9-iron on the 142-yard shot. Stephen Grybko witnessed.

Legion baseball

Greenfield Post 81 (11), Monson Post 241 (0) (five innings) Bodie Burke got the win on the mound for Greenfield in the road win over Monson on Monday. Burke struck out six hitters and gave up two hits in four innings. Hunter Donahue had two hits including a triple and two RBI for Greenfield (3-0). Sam Connors added two hits with an RBI. Greenfield hosts Belchertown on Wednesday at Vets Field. First pitch set for 5:45.

River Valley Raptors 5, Turners Falls Titans 3 Phillip Brodeur won on the mound for the Raptors in the home win over the Titans on June 12. Brodeur struck out six hitters in his outing. Asa Stebbins had two hits and two RBI for the Raptors (3-0). Ryan Turner added a hit and an RBI with a run scored. Tyler Newton had a hit for the Titans, with Travis Williams adding an RBI.

River Valley Raptors 12, Frontier (K2) 8 — The Raptors got past Frontier at Herlihy Park on June 10. Ryan Turner went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Raptors. Carter Flagg added two hits. Owen Lauder went 2-for-3 for Frontier. Parker Gerry started on the mound for the Raptors, finishing with three strikeouts.

Racing

JD Stockwell of Bernardston won for the third time this season at Monadnock Speedway on June 13 in Winchester, N.H. Stockwell won by two lengths over previous winner Robert Hagar in the Limited Late Model race. Results: JD Stockwell, Robert Hagar, Owen Zilinski (Gill), Hillary Renaud, Erik Smith, Wesley Stedt, Michael Lashue, Zach Zilinski (Gill), Greg Williams.

Running

The 45th Montague Mug Race will be held on Saturday, August 15th. The 5.5-mile road race starts off at 8:30 from the Village Common, 4 North Street. Pewter mugs are awarded to the top male/female finisher and coffee mugs to top three finishers in each division. T-shirts are given to the first 70 runners. The 20th Mini Mug run/walk kicks off at 8:35 a.m. This course is 2-miles. Both races finish on Station Street, one block from the start. All participants are entered in a drawing for local prizes.
