ROWE – Money for road repairs, highway trucks and municipal generators will be voted on at a special town meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, in the Rowe Elementary School.
The town is asking to spend money from various town stabilization accounts for the following items:
$17,500 to replace the Fire Department heating system.
$90,000 for a new Highway Department truck to replace the 2010 Ford F-550, which has hydraulics problems, rust and parts that are hard to replace.
$7,000 to repair the electrical system in a fire truck.
$76,575 for engineering work and repairs on Yankee Road.
$50,532 to install generators at the Town Hall and Highway Garage.
Voters will also be asked if they would support having the Selectboard serve as the town’s MLP (Municipal Light Plant) Board, which would oversee the town’s future broadband network. Also they would be asked to vote to put the issue on the town’s annual town meeting warrant.
Also, several money transfers are requested to pay bills from earlier fiscal years.
