ROWE — Two men are vying for an open seat on the Selectboard, and Friday, Aug. 18, is the last day to register to vote for those who want to cast a ballot in this special election.
Finance Committee member Chuck Sokol and Park Commissioner Michael Phillips are both seeking election for the time remaining of former Selectwoman Marilyn Wilson, who stepped down this summer. According to Town Clerk Katherine Sprague, the election takes place on Sept. 9. The winning candidate will serve on the Selectboard until the annual town elections in May 2018.
Special voter registration hours this Friday are from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Town Hall.
HEATH — Fair organizers want to remind the public that Fair Bingo is free Friday night at approximately 6:30 in the upper tent. Anyone interested in playing will need to pay to get on the fair grounds. The plan is to play 17 games with prizes donated by individuals and businesses.
