Ten Mile Bridge to be sealcoated

LEYDEN — Highway Superintendent Dave Brooks announced plans to sealcoat Ten Mile Bridge near the Colrain border during a recent Selectboard meeting.

Brooks said the project will cost $1,150, a cost the board approved. However, when the project will start is currently unclear.

Alarm panel needs replacing

LEYDEN — The Selectboard approved using $2,252.92 from the building maintenance account to replace a defective alarm panel in Town Hall during a meeting Thursday.

The board explained the panel provides fire detection throughout the building and allows for use of the emergency telephone in the elevator.

Members agreed to have Cebula Electronics Corporation out of Chicopee repair the panel.

Meetings moved to Mondays

LEYDEN — Due to conflicting meetings, the Selectboard announced plans to move their meetings from Thursdays to Mondays starting in September.

Meetings during the first and third weeks of the month will be held at 9 a.m., and meetings during the second and fourth weeks of the month will be held at 6:45 p.m.
