ERVING — The Erving Open Space Committee, in collaboration with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, has issued a survey to all Erving residents to gather feedback on existing recreational and open space resources as well as preferences for future priorities.
Survey responses are anonymous and will be used to produce an updated Open Space and Recreation Plan. A paper copy of the survey has been direct mailed to all residents and should arrive this week. The committee is asking that all responses are submitted by Aug. 31.
Completed surveys can be mailed to the Erving Town Hall with the enclosed return envelope or may be dropped off at the following locations: Erving Town Hall, Erving Public Library, Erving Elementary School or the Erving Senior & Community Center. Additionally, residents may complete the survey online. The address for the online survey has been included in the mailing.
The Erving Board of Selectmen is seeking two residents to serve on the newly established Capital Planning Committee.
Members of the Selectboard and the Finance Committee have worked with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments to revise the annual process for reviewing capital improvement requests. At the Town Meeting in May, voters approved a new bylaw that establishes the committee. The five-member committee consists of: one selectman or a designee appointed by the Selectboard; two finance committee members or designees appointed by the Finance Committee; and two residents at-large appointed by the Selectboard.
Residents who are interested in serving on this committee should submit a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen, 12 East Main St., Erving, MA 01344 or by email to: admin@ervingma.org.
Residents with questions may contact Bryan Smith, administrative coordinator at 413-422-2800, ext. 102.
