Admitted to sufficient facts for negligent operation of a motor vehicle in Montague, but continued without a finding until 11/22/17, with $200 fine, head-injury assessment of $250, and victim-witness assessment of $50. Found not responsible for marked lanes violation. Charge of operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, amended down from operating a motor vehicle with suspended license for operating under the influence of liquor, dismissed on request of the Commonwealth.
Steven France, 34, of Conway Street, Greenfield. Pleaded innocent to unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Released on personal recognizance. Continued to 8/4/17 for pretrial conference.
Milton Ovalle-Gonzalez, 28, of Fifth Street, Turners Falls, Placed on pretrial probation until 12/5/17 for straight assault, amended down from assault and battery on family/household member, and the defendant must have no abuse of the victim. Charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, was not prosecuted, as, according to a statement made by a counsel from the district attorney’s office, after speaking with the victim in this matter, the Commonwealth couldn’t sustain its burden as to this charge. As a result, this action is necessary.

Pleaded innocent to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a knife/a cutting instrument, and carrying a dangerous weapon, to wit, a knife/cutting instrument. Dangerousness hearing held, but denied, and conditions are that the defendant must not commit a crime, must stay away from and have no contact with a named person, and any residence of the alleged victim, must report to the probation office at their discretion, must have no drugs (excluding marijuana) with screens, must refrain from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapons, and released on personal recognizance. Continued to 6/27/17 for pretrial conference.
