DEERFIELD — State police arrested three Vermont residents on multiple charges including distribution of heroin, early Sunday morning near Deerfield.
Troopers from the Shelburne Falls Barracks found 98 white wax paper bags of heroin in the car.
Around 3:30 a.m., a trooper was on Interstate 91, in the town of Deerfield, when he saw a black Honda Pilot headed north make several marked lane violations.
The driver of the car, Melissa Loiselle, 36, of Richford, Vt., was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, on top of a citation for marked lanes violations. Bail was set at $200.
The owner and front passenger of the car, Stephen Salyer, 37, of Enosburg, Vt., was also charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug law, in addition to possession of a dangerous weapon. Bail was set at $1,000.
The passenger in the back seat, Jeremy Stanhope, 37, of Richford, Vt., was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug law. Bail was set at $500.
The three were scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
