SUNDERLAND – The town’s “first ever” town-wide tag sale is scheduled for Saturday as part of preparations for next year’s 300th anniversary celebration.

“We are suggesting that at the end of the day, members of town that participated, will then have an opportunity to donate some portion of their tag sales income to the Town of Sunderland in support of the 300th (celebration),” said Traci Sackrey, a member of the town’s 300th Anniversary Committee.

Tag sales can start anytime, Sackrey said. The event has a suggested donation of $25 for those who participate.

There’s no permit fee or registration required to set up tag sales. The town has “provided community signage, but encourage you to also sign your front lawn the day of the event, assisting visitors to find you,” reads a press statement about the event.

Afterward, cash or check donations can be dropped off, care of Una Miller at 96 Russell St., payable to the Town of Sunderland with a memo specifying 300th Anniversary Committee.
