GILL — The town opened its annual town meeting on Monday night and passed six of six initial articles, mostly routine housekeeping items, with all fiscal articles to be handled later in June.

“It’s an abbreviated session, as you can see, as well as quite a few housekeeping issues here. So if you haven’t had dinner yet, we’ll get you home,” Moderator John Zywna said at the start of the meeting.

Every article passed unanimously. The town delayed the articles pertaining to the budget because it has not completed its budget process yet. A later session of town meeting to pass all budget items will be held on June 5. The town also plans to bring any capital improvements at that time.

The meeting covered the first six of 22 articles on the warrant.

Items passed on Tuesday included accepting Chapter 90 funds from the state for road work, accepting funding from the Quintus Allen Trust for Gill Elementary and authorizing revolving fund accounts. The town also approved the election of two field drivers, and elected the Selectboard members as fence viewers, measurers of wood, bark and surveyors of lumber.

The town also voted to pass over hearing the town annual reports, which are still being generated. Annual reports from fiscal years 2011 and 2013 are currently being printed and reports 2010 and 2012 will be completed this summer, according to town Administrative Assistant Ray Purington.

The meeting was completed in about 20 minutes with about 30 Gill voters in attendance.
