GREENFIELD — An Erving woman is in good condition following a head-on collision that shut down traffic on the Route 2 bypass near Bernardston Road for a few hours Thursday afternoon, a hospital spokesman said Friday.

Linda Hurlburt, 76, is recovering at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, according to Senior Public Affairs Specialist Keith J. O’Connor.

The other person injured in the crash, Huntington resident James Valentine, 60, suffered minor injuries.

His condition is unknown, though O’Connor said it appears he was not taken to Baystate.

Greenfield Police say Hurlburt was driving in the opposite direction of traffic as she entered Route 2.
