BERNARDSTON — To understand the frequency of truck traffic on town roads, Town Coordinator Hugh Campbell announced during a Board of Selectmen’s meeting Wednesday that a traffic count will be conducted on River Street.
The decision comes after Bernardston resident Frank Ribeiro proposed enacting an ordinance to limit truck traffic on town roads during an October meeting.
Campbell said the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) is sending someone to conduct the traffic count at no cost to the town. The individual will monitor traffic where River Street in Bernardston becomes Lampblack Road in Greenfield starting sometime in mid-April.
