NORTHFIELD — Dickinson Memorial Library is celebrating Pi Day on Wednesday by serving free pie and coffee starting at 2 p.m. The celebration was postponed a day because of the expected snow storm.
LEYDEN — The Council on Aging is hosting an early St. Patrick’s Day lunch on Wednesday, March 15, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Town Hall’s community room.
Traditional St. Patrick’s Day fare will be served, including corned beef, cabbage and Irish soda bread.

LEYDEN — Naturalist John Root presents “Songbirds of the Northeast” on Wednesday, March 15 from 1 to 2 p.m. upstairs in Town Hall.
The presentation, organized by the Council on Aging, will feature images and sound recordings of the region’s songbirds. Bluebird boxes and perennials for attracting wildlife will be available for purchase after the presentation.
NORTHFIELD — Dickinson Memorial Library is holding a trivia night at Cameron’s Winery at 105 Main St. on Thursday, March 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Individuals ages 21 and up are invited to come with a team of up to five, or they can be matched with a team upon arrival. Questions will be asked by Matt Atwood, Mary Bowen and Paul Bocko. Wine, beer and appetizers will be available for purchase, or guests can pick up and bring food from Antonio’s Pizza. No other outside food or beverages will be allowed.
NORTHFIELD — Desiree Smelcer presents “Understanding Bigfoot: History and Culture” on Saturday, March 18, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Dickinson Memorial Library.
Smelcer will discuss some of the oral traditions around Bigfoot, as well as her own two encounters in Humboldt County, Calif., which led her to earn undergraduate degrees in anthropology and history, and graduate degrees in library science and history.
The program is free.
