GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police shut down a lane of the General Pierce Bridge connecting Greenfield to Montague Wednesday around 4:45 p.m. because of a large pothole in the road, according to the department Facebook page.

The state highway department was called to repair the road. By 6:15 p.m., Greenfield Police reported the road had been reopened.
