It has been over two months since fire destroyed our home in Erving and took the life of our beautiful granddaughter Leia. Although we are still so overwhelmed by the pain and devastation of this horrible event, at this time we would like to say thank you to so many wonderful people who were there for us. To the first responders who came to our home in the early hours of Nov. 22. We will be forever grateful to you. To the firefighters and police of Erving and surrounding towns, I understand there were 13 towns responding, we cannot thank you enough for your heroic efforts.

We are very thankful to everyone involved in planning and attending the amazing benefit held at St. Kaz in Turners Falls on Dec. 18. Words can’t express how it felt to be surrounded by so much love when we were feeling so fragile.

With regards to the wonderful people of our community and beyond, we were on our way to the hospital not even fully aware of our losses, and already donations were being gathered on our behalf. Thank you all for your generous donations of time, money clothing and prayers. We will never forget the amazing support given to us by all of you.

Thank you and God bless.
