Aaron Hendry had a big Friday for Mahar Regional School, winning one event and finishing second in another to help the Senators beat Hampshire Regional High School (86-9) and Pioneer Valley Regional School (75-20) during the final meet of the PVIAC indoor-track regular season at Smith College in Northampton.

Hendry won a competitive 300-meter dash in 38.16 seconds to nip Athol High School’s Mason Barrieau, who finished second at 38.28. Hendry and Barrieau also came in back-to-back in the 55-meter hurdles, where Hendry took second in 8.86 seconds and Barrieau was third at 8.87.

Ash Shaw had a strong day for Mahar, placing fifth in the 1,000 (2:51.93), seventh in the mile (5:12.72) and eighth in the high jump (5-1). Hugo Frost came in fourth in the 55 hurdles (9.00), fourth in the high jump (5-3), and sixth in the 300 (39.10), and eighth in the long jump (18-¼). Sebastian Shaw was seventh in the 2-mile (11:42.16) and ninth in the high jump (5-1), and Hunter Apteker took seventh in the long jump (18-3¼) and eighth in the 55 hurdles (9.52). Andrew Hill was third in the 2-mile (11:26.52). John Nye was fourth in the shot put (38-0).

Seth Hoynoski had a pair of top-10 finishes as he placed seventh in the 600 (1:34.32) and eighth in the 2-mile (11:45.31), and Mohawk Trail Regional High School tied Athol, 45-45, and beat Pioneer, 55-38. Ben White was fifth in the 300 (38.64), Zachary Goodell was eighth in the shot put (36-3¼), Zach Coburn was 10th in the 2-mile (11:48.99), and Ben Warger was 10th in the long jump (18-0).

Barrieau led Athol with his pair of top-3 finishes. Kris Selanis won the shot put (45-11¼), Chase Michaud took fourth in the 600 (1:31.04), Gabe Roberts was sixth in the long jump (18-4), and Zack Bergquist took eighth in the 1,000 (2:59.68).

Scott McDonough placed second in the long jump at 19-3¾ for Pioneer, and he took 10th in the 55 meters in 7.25 seconds. Adrian Wilson was seventh in the shot put (36-5½), and Jake Wallace was 10th in the high jump at 5-1.

• On the girls’ side of the early session, Meghan Davis had three top-10 finishes and Mohawk beat both Athol (70-21) and Pioneer (73-18).

Davis won the 2-mile (11:34.17), took second in the mile (5:39.15) and was sixth in the 1,000 (3:25.12). Gabby Shean was fourth in the shot put (31-2½), while teammate Hannah Poplawski was ninth (25-5½). Lily Wickland-Shearer was fifth in the 55 hurdles (10.34), and Olivia Parent was eighth in the 600 (1:55.10).

Anna Wetherbee had two top-10 finishes to help Mahar to wins over Hampshire (54-41) and Pioneer (69-25). Wetherbee was fifth in the 600 (1:50.59) and ninth in the long jump (13-9¾). Kamryn Reilly was eighth in the high jump (4-5), and ninth in the 55 (8.09). Marie Nottleson was sixth in the 55 hurdles (10.36), Ava Santana was sixth in the high jump (4-5), Emma Currier was ninth in the 2-mile (13:01.51).

Sydney Unaitis led Pioneer with a 12th-place showing in the long jump (13-4¼).

• On the girls’ side of the late session, Amy O’Sullivan came in second in the 2-mile (12:13.78) and third in the mile (5:55.28) but Greenfield High School lost to both South Hadley High School (82-13) and West Springfield High School (72-23).

Courtney Danielsen was sixth in the mile (6:23.03) for the Green Wave, and Jamie Day was ninth in the 2-mile (13:32.54).

• In boys’ action, Silvian Popusoi had three top-10 finishes but Greenfield lost to both South Hadley (56-38) and West Springfield (78-16).

Popusoi was sixth in the 55 hurdles (9.06), eighth in the high jump (5-7), and 10th in the long jump (18-2¼). Liam McLain was seventh in the 300 (39.28), Dylan Badillo was seventh in the 2-mile (11:15.10), Mike Aras was ninth in the high jump (5-5), and Tyssen LaBombard was ninth in the mile (5:17.86).
