NORTHAMPTON — As a local real estate agent, Donna Wesoloski helps lead buyers to their dream homes on a regular basis. This summer, though, she got to do it for a national audience.

In February, Wesoloski will appear on the HGTV reality show “House Hunters,” where she shows properties in Hampshire and Franklin counties to prospective buyers.

A film crew flew in from California to capture Wesoloski and the buyers as they toured three properties in Northampton, Easthampton and Whately.

“It was a lot of fun,” Wesoloski said. “I’d do it again in a minute.”

A Northampton native, Wesoloski has worked for The Jones Group Realtors since 2003. She said she is glad the television show came to town and noted that scenes were shot in the houses, as well as in nearby parks and on Main Street in Northampton. She said she hopes local businesses will benefit from being in the spotlight.

“Who doesn’t want to be on Main Street in Northampton?” she said with a laugh. “It’s just a great place to live. It’s not difficult to persuade people to move here.”

Wesoloski carefully selected three potential houses to show the buyers and received approval from the producers before filming began. With no script, they worked 10 to 12 hours a day, for a total of five or six days.

“As we walked into these places for the first time, you’re getting the reactions of the buyer for the first time,” she explained. “You’ll get to learn about the buyers themselves.”

Watch: Feb. 23

The episode is scheduled to air on Feb. 23 at 10 p.m. and Wesoloski can’t wait to tune in. “It will be exciting for everyone to see,” she said.

The Jones Group plans to air the show at a party at its Northampton office at 238 Bridge St., Friday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
