9:49 p.m. — A caller at the Franklin Recovery Center, 298 Federal St., reported a man in his 30s holding a large plastic bag was attempting to sell drugs by the dumpster. By 10:08 p.m., Officer Jay Butynski had located the man behind Tire Warehouse at 291 Federal St. Police arrested Brian Shapiro, 37, of East Longmeadow on five warrants for his arrest.
9:30 a.m. — A caller reported a missing stop sign at the intersection of Allen and Conway streets.
9:44 a.m. — A caller at the railroad underpass on Cheapside Street reported a tractor trailer truck or dump truck struck the bridge. Police found the operator still on scene, and discovered that though the vehicle was height compliant, the aluminum load cover had bounced up and hit the bridge when the vehicle hit a bump. The bridge was undamaged.
