I am writing because I feel misrepresented in your article “Amid parking changes in Greenfield, officials ask for public forums.” The issue of lack of communication by the City of Greenfield was discussed, but only briefly. My major concern was the negative impact on businesses in downtown after the City of Greenfield eliminated access to most of public parking.

Open office and retail spaces downtown will likely not be filled for a long time, and my prediction is that there will be more within the year. As I learned the hard way by receiving a parking ticket recently, a parking permit is only valid Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As an entrepreneur, I work long hours and I simply cannot afford adjusting my business operation around the city’s parking policies. Consequently, I will vacate my office space at 10 Fiske Ave. as soon as possible.
