BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Board of Selectmen on Wednesday appointed town residents Robert Keir and Jack Killeen to an 11-member committee to recommend changes to the regional agreement.
The committee, which was proposed by North County officials during a joint meeting of selectboards on Jan. 10, will include two members of each town, two School Committee members and Superintendent Ruth Miller.
Additionally, the Leyden Selectboard appointed member Lance Fritz and Finance Committee member Ginger Robinson to the new committee during a Thursday morning meeting. The selectboards in Northfield and Warwick have yet to decide which residents will represent their towns.
The ad-hoc committee will be responsible for recommending changes to the regional agreement, a document created by the four Pioneer Valley Regional School District towns outlining the rules under which the towns will operate by joining the school district together. The committee will be finalized during the next joint Selectboard meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bernardston Senior Center.
NORTHFIELD — Local artist Jinx Hastings will be at Dickinson Memorial Library today to teach the Japanese art of origami.
The program, which is from 2 to 3 p.m., is for all ages. Hastings will teach at least three different origami shapes, and the library has books outlining additional designs.
