Meghan Davis won the 2-mile and came in third in the 1,000-meter run as Mohawk Trail Regional High School coach Joe Chadwick picked up career wins No. 1,199 and 1,200 Friday afternoon when the Warriors defeated Ludlow High School (50-45) and Southwick Tolland Regional High School (57-38) during the early session of the third meet of the PVIAC indoor track & field season at Smith College in Northampton.

The early meet featured 11 schools. Davis won the 2-mile in a time of 11 minutes, 38.32 seconds, while taking third in the 1,000 in 3:26.55. The Warriors had a pair of girls finish in the top 10 in the shot put, with Gabby Shean placing sixth at 26 feet, 5 inches, and Hannah Poplawski placing 10th in 25-¼. Lily Wickland-Shearer was eighth in the 55-meter hurdles (10.51), and teammate Olivia Parent came in 10th in the 600 in 1:57.13.

Mahar finished with two losses on the day, falling to South Hadley High School (77-18) and Southwick (48-47). Emma Currier led the Senators with a pair of fourth-place finishes, taking fourth in the mile (6:13.65) and 2-mile (12:45.19). Kamryn Reilly picked up one fourth-place finish overall with her long jump of 14-1¾, and Marie Nottleson was ninth overall in the 55 hurdles at 10.61.

On the boys’ side, both Mohawk and Mahar split two meets. Mohawk defeated Ludlow (59-28) and lost to Southwick (53-38). Seth Hoynoski had three top 10 finishes, placing fourth in the 55 hurdles (9.20), ninth in the mile (5:06.12), and and 10th in the 300 (39.43). Zach Coburn also had three top-10s, placing sixth in the 1,000 (2:55.65) and the 2-mile (11:08.33), eighth in the long jump (17-9).

Mahar defeated South Hadley (59-36) but lost to Southwick (52-43). Aaron Hendry came in second in the 55 hurdles (9.03) and fifth in the 600 (1:33.49). Hunter Apteker also had a pair of top 10s, placing ninth in the 55 hurdles (9.66) and 10th in the long jump (17-5). Seth Mitchell was sixth in the high jump (5-3) for Mahar, Ash Shaw was sixth in the 300 (38.89), Uziel Valentin was eighth in the 55 dash (7.14), and John Nye was seventh in the shot put (36-11¾).

In the evening session, Amy O’Sullivan had top 3 finishes in a pair of distance events and the Greenfield High School girls split a pair of meets, defeating High School of Commerce (38-30) but falling to Hampshire Regional High School (77-13). O’Sullivan came in second in the 2-mile (12:17.25) and third in the mile (5:57.80). Teammate Jamie Day was eighth in the 2-mile (13:37.76) while Courtney Danielsen was ninth in the mile (6:39.93).

Pioneer dropped a pair of meets with losses to Hampshire (75-20) and Pope Francis High School (55-31). Avery Kelton led the Panthers with a fifth-place finish in the high jump (4-3), and Sydney Unaitis was seventh in the long jump (13-3½). Karissa Perkins came in eighth in the 55 hurdles (11.47), and Lily Van Baaren was ninth in the 2-mile (13:52.65).

On the boys’ side of the evening session, Silvian Popusoi had three top-10s for Greenfield and the Green Wave swept two meets with wins over Hampshire (57-26) and Commerce (54-33).

Popusoi came in second in the high jump (5-5), fourth in the 55 hurdles (9.51) and seventh in the long jump (17-6). Liam McLain also had a nice day with a fourth-place time of 40.71 in the 300, and a 10th-place time of 7.21 seconds in the 55 dash. Mike Aras came in fourth in the high jump (5-3), and Dylan Badillo was fifth in the 2-mile (11:29.67). Sam Knight was eighth in the 1,000 in 3:14.82, and teammate Tyssen LaBombard was right behind him in ninth in 3:19.90.

Pioneer split its two meets, beating Hampshire (64-30), but falling to Pope Francis (53-42). Scott McDonough had a nice day for the Panthers, picking up a second-place finish in the long jump (19-3½) while taking ninth in the 55 dash (7.20). Jacob Kelton added two top 10s, placing eighth in the 300 (41.77) and the high jump (4-11), and Andrew Pratt came in fifth in the shot put (34-8¾) and sixth in the high jump (5-1). Jake Wallace followed Pratt in the high jump with a ninth-place leap of 4-11, while two of Pratt’s teammates followed him in the shot put, Adrian Wilson in sixth at 34-3½ and Jacob Comiskey in ninth in 33-2¼. Henry Curtis took seventh in the 2-mile (13:01.85), closely followed by teammate Manny Little, who took eighth (13:49.90).
