12:05 a.m. — Disturbance reported at the Winslow building on Wells Street where the caller says a male and female are arguing for the past10 minutes, but he states he hasn’t seen anything physical, and it seems verbal at this time; officer found it to be an argument between friends, and quiet on arrival; however, the reporting person then reports both male and female are working up again, and the caller reports the female is crying and screaming; officers advised a second time about the noise, and found that this time the involved female was arguing on the phone with an ex-boyfriend; they were advised that further calls could /will result in charges.
5:41 a.m. — Fire alarm activation at Baystate Franklin Medical Center; Fire Department responding, and found the building was the new surgery side of the building, but no report of smoke or fire; fire command reports strobe activation; command then reports a broken pipe in the new surgery area; then the sprinkler system was shut down; building inspector and wiring inspectors contacted, and will respond; command then reports one unit is investigating a secondary leak. Units were then released.
8:13 a.m. — Caller reports a one-car accident on the Route 2 by-pass; with a vehicle on the guardrail; gone on arrival of police.
8:36 a.m. — Hazard on Cheapside Street where the caller reports the westbound lane was flooded due to clogged storm drains; officer confirmed there is flooding, but doesn’t seem to be a hazard at this time; advised to let DPW know; DPW was also advised of ponding at Silver, Congress, and River streets.
9:16 a.m. — Accident on Leyden Road; with a car into a pole, and the caller is reporting a minor back pain, and says the pole is down; Fire Department responding; officer requesting a tow; officer reports no injury as initially reported. Eversource was notified of the pole down; officer requests a sander to head up Leyden Road; this was southbound, and on the west side of the road.
11:53 a.m. — Reporting person indicates that while he was at Dunkin Donuts on Federal Street, an employee spilled coffee on his Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge; he wanted it noted.
2 p.m. — Report of a missing foster child who left the Riddell Street facility two hours ago and hasn’t returned; description given; officer found the person at the bus station, and the juvenile was transported back to her residence.
5:59 p.m. — Accident reported on the Mohawk Trail near Friendly’s Restaurant; minor two-vehicle accident, and they are parked in the lot where the old motel was knocked down; no injuries reported. Report taken.
8:14 p.m. — Fire alarm activation on the Mohawk Trail; Fire Department responding, services rendered.
11:53 a.m. — Fire reported at the apartment building on Fourth Street and the fire is reportedly extinguished; the reporting person stated her mother had poured water on something gas, and stated it wasn’t the stove, possibly a heating element, in an effort to create a humidifier effect; the reporting person has already evacuated but states her mother is still inside and refusing to evacuate; Fire Department and officer were dispatched; Turners Falls Fire Department confirmed the fire has been extinguished, and the cause of the fire was a boot insert that had been left on the stove.
1:32 p.m. — Report of a tree blocking the southbound lane in the vicinity of the condos on Federal Street; on officers’ arrival, he found advised to cancel the Mass Highway unit as good Samaritans have already moved the tree out of the road; Mass Highway was advised.
3:12 p.m. — Call from Industrial Residential Security Company reporting a fire activation at the Hallmark Institute of Photography on Millers Falls Road, in the administration building. Turners Falls Fire Department and officer responded and on arrival they noticed water leak coming from the ceiling and a burglar alarm started going off; proper code was obtained from a key holder, and given to the fire unit to deactivate the alarm; the key holder advised she will come to the scene but it will be two hours from Connecticut; she was advised to call the Fire Department when she was on scene so the Fire Department can respond there to speak with her there.
9:06 a.m. — Received three different snow complaints in one area, one for Denny’s Pantry, one for Cherry Rum Auto, and one for Burger King; officer checking.
7 a.m. — DPW requesting officers assisting with snow removals in the parking lots on Third and Fourth streets, O.
9:32 a.m. — Report from the United ARC location on Fifth Street concerning illegal dumping outside in a dumpster at that location; names and address visible on packages; dispatch in Montague got a call from the male named on the packages; he said his friend told him it was his landlord’s dumpster and that it would be OK to leave his trash there; the male will have to have the trash removed by the end of the day; officer there advised the original reporting person of the disposition.
10:24 a.m. — Caller from Dry Hill Road reports suspicious activity on his bank or credit card; officer spoke with the reporting person and report taken.
12:54 p.m. — Accident at Colrain Road and Colrain Street, with two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; officer sent, and reports both vehicles left under their own power, report issued.
1:19 p.m. — Larceny reported from Wells Street where the caller says her brother, who lives with her, is stealing her stuff, and she would like to speak with an officer; she was advised of options.
2 p.m. — Forgery or fraud reported by a walk-in who says his EBT Card was used fraudulently at Stop & Shop on French King Highway; officer to investigate.
2:18 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Medical Office Building, on Sanderson Street, where hospital security requested assistance there, as a person fell in a doctor’s office and struck his head, and was combative; the man was transported to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center ER.
3:03 p.m. — Caller from Wells Street reports a Verizon bill, opened in her name, for $500, but she said it was by mistake, as she doesn’t have any services from Verizon; she was given the customer service number for Verizon, and was encouraged to call police again if they can’t correct the problem.
4:09 p.m. — Officer making a warrant arrest of Paul Fisher, 28, of Lockes Village Road, Wendell, at the courthouse on Munson Street.
4:26 p.m. — Minor rear end collision reported at the North bound ramp at the Route 91 rotary; no injuries, information was exchanged.
10:24 p.m. — Caller from Armory Street apartments building states an involved female punched her in the face, but the reporting person is declining EMS; the incident happened at the back access; and caller is now in front awaiting police; an involved male was also present to the incident and possibly has a warrant; officer responded; arrested was Yarras Fletcher, 27, of Armory Street, Greenfield, on the warrant.
8:01 a.m. — Hazardous condition reported from West Street where the DPW requested both police and Fire Department, to evacuate houses in the area due to a ruptured high pressure gas line; the road was blocked at West and Elm streets, and DPW put up road closed signs; Eversouce requested to the scene, priority one; Eversource states it is a 20 minute ETA; the mayor was notified; Medcare requested to stage in the area at West Street east of Elm; gas isolated for the neighborhood, and evacuation order lifted; WHAI was notified that the evacuation was lifted and they will put it on the air.
9 a.m. — Disturbance at Main and Conway streets where the caller heard vehicle operators yelling at one another; officer sent, and found that the operator of one car was mad, because the operator in the second car had stopped to let someone cross in the sidewalk; no further action.
7:30 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering, on New Athol Road, officers cleared the building, and investigated; report taken.
12:10 p.m. — Officer was approached by a motorist who was looking for a Toys for Tots drop off location; the reporting person was directed to the Massachusetts State police in Athol.
2:10 p.m. — Control got a call for a minor two-car accident in the area of Daniel Shays Highway, ramp off Route 202; report filed.
3:40 p.m. — Several calls reporting a vehicle stopped at the traffic lights on East Main Street, the vehicle hasn’t moved through four or five cycles of the green lights; on officer’s arrival the male was unresponsive, but the car was in drive, running, and locked, officers broke a passenger window to gain access; the male was taken to Athol Memorial Hospital.
1:42 p.m. — Accident at Main and Chapman streets, two vehicles, but no injuries reported; minor damage, and information exchanged.
2:51 p.m. — Report from Greenfield Country Estates on Adams Road where the caller reports malicious destruction of property, at that location; officer to investigate, and the caller reports hearing a noise last night, and looking out her window, and seeing a male she identified, walking back to his trailer, and now there is a deep scratch on her vehicle; services rendered.
3 p.m. — Hit and run reported at Foster’s Supermarket on Allen Street; officer investigating.
3:45 p. m. — Hit and run at Subway on Federal Street where the caller says a blue/silver car backed into her, and hit her leg, and took off; she advised the leg does hurt, but unsure if she needs an ambulance; she was advised we will send one to check, services rendered.
3:59 p. m. — Fraud reported by a walk-in from Orchard Street who said bank accounts were opened in the reporting person’s name, and totaling up $5,500 in charges. Situation investigated.
4:07 p.m. — Caller from Newton Street School on Shelburne Road reports while picking up from school today, a bus backed into their vehicle, and moved it while they were in it; she will be in tomorrow to fill out a report; the accident happened at 3:45 p.m., and advises there is damage to the vehicle.
5:05 p.m. — Caller from Oak Courts reports someone used his name to get a gas bill; officer en route to investigate.
11:49 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Cumberland Farms on Federal Street from where a caller says an older male, roughly 60 years of age, is irate and yelling at people, and he said the male is currently outside yelling through the glass, on the side of the building; he is wearing an old green military jacket and has the word “Revolution” on the back of it; subject was gone on arrival, and they were unable to locate the male, in spite of searching the area; based on the description, the male is likely to be a person known as JH.
12:35 p.m. — Officer serving a warrant on Fourth Street; arrested was Nathan Franklin, 24, of Fourth Street, Turners Falls, on a default warrant.
1:07 p.m. — Report of a possible breaking and entering, at West Chestnut Hill Road location; officer called the reporting person and she will forward the surveillance footage to the investigating officer.
2:41 p.m. — Vandalism reported from Ideal Home Improvement on Avenue A, where the reporting person requested an officer to observe items that were placed on the windshield of one of his company vehicles; the reporting person believes the items were put there to harass, or retaliate against, one of his employees; officer spoke with the owner, but the employee wouldn’t be back for a few hours; the owner will have that employee contact Montague Police if he wants to talk with the officer.
3:15 p.m. — Caller from Third Street is reporting that she knocked on a door that she thought was her friend’s apartment, but she was mistaken; however, the man who answered the door was completely naked, and she is concerned that he may do that to others; the officer spoke to the reporting person, and found it not as reported.
10:50 a.m. — Officer on South Main Street is looking for assistance with an out-of-control student; on arrival of another officer the student was able to be calmed down; no further police action needed.
2:33 p. m. — A mailman called requesting an officer check on a male on Eagleville Road as his mail and packages have been piling up; on further investigation officers found that the resident was currently in the hospital, the reporting person was advised, and he will take appropriate action with the mail.
6:13 a.m. — Report of carbon monoxide alarm soundings on Conway Street, at an apartment unit; Fire Department sent, and fire officer is still investigating some readings that they have discovered; fire command requesting Berkshire Gas; they were contacted and will be responding; Command reports problem was found in the basement, awaiting the gas company; they were quickly on scene, and the landlord has also been notified.
8:26 a.m. — Caller reports a past accident with a Toyota Highlander when a Kuzmeskus bus hit a parked vehicle at the school location, but no injuries reported. Services rendered.
11:34 a.m. — Report of a wire down north of the jail on Elm Street, Fire Department notified and responding; services rendered.
11:07 a.m. — Walk-in requesting an officer regarding an Internet scam, but the reporting person was found to be from Colrain, and got mail in Colrain regarding the scam; she was advised that if she wants to make a police report on this, she needs to speak with Colrain Police.
3:35 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported on Temple Avenue where a white male, claiming to be with Eversource, but refusing to give an ID; unknown direction of travel, but later found inside a residence near by, and he was advised of the proper channel to solicit in town.
5:46 p.m. — Traffic stop at Main and Wells streets; investigation leads to arrest of Luis R. Rosario, 33, of Sullivan Lane, Greenfield, charged with operating a motor vehicle with license suspended, and crosswalk violation; a 32-year-old female is also being summoned for allowing an improper operation of the vehicle
7:21 p.m. — Report from Frederick Road of a white male, in his 30s, with dark hair and dark clothing, going door to door regarding electric company rates; male involved with this company are currently in the police station lobby and officers will speak with them.
8:56 a.m. — Accident in area of Rau’s service center on Turners Falls Road according to the reporting person, who requests to speak with an officer regarding a minor accident at about 7:30 a.m., at that location, and says that neither vehicle sustained any visible damage; she spoke with the operator to ask if he was OK, but in hindsight she is worried that he may not have understood her, due to a language barrier; she called to have her information on record in case the other operator calls, an officer spoke with the reporting person and advised her of options.
9:53 a.m. — Caller from Montague Street requests an officer regarding harassment from his former employer; officer spoke with the reporting person and he was advised of options, and the officer then spoke with the other half of this issue as well, and both people were advised not to contact the other person.
10:56 a.m. — Ordinance violation reported about un-shoveled sidewalk at Carroll’s Market in Millers Falls, on East Main Street; officer spoke with the owner about the issue and the owner advised he would rectify the issue.
12:41 p.m. — Caller into the station from East Main Street to report that sometime last week while her vehicle was in getting repaired, some items were stolen out of the vehicle; the reporting person advised that two prescriptions (Oxycodone and Prozac) were taken as well as an iPhone, radar detector, and jumper cables; she wanted the incident on record.
3:20 p.m. — Report of a rabid skunk in a chicken coop on West River Street; Control left a message with the ACO; on officer’s arrival the skunk was out of the coop, and went through the yard, and across the street where the officer lost sight of it.
4:22 a.m. — Report from Circle K gas station on the Mohawk Trail and reporting person says various medications found in a black plastic bag at this location; they were later taken to the Police Department and placed into property unit
6:16 a.m. — Accident at Cheapside and Hope streets, officer and Fire Department responded, two-car head-on accident found, and caller advised one person was stuck in the vehicle; Medcare advised, and will need two ALS trucks; two flatbed wreckers needed; fire command reports the second patient has been extricated, and loaded with Medcare; tow truck on scene.
8:48 a.m. — Accident reported at Stop & Shop on French King Highway two vehicles, but caller says no injuries reported., officer found a minor accident and assisted with paperwork exchange.
8:54 a.m. — Caller reports she gave information to a door-to-door sales person; then she looked up the company and believes it is a scam.
9:10 a.m. — Accident at Maple and Parkway streets, no injuries reported. Medcare sent, tow truck needed; one patient is out with Medcare; determined that the vehicle slid into trees, due to terrible roadway from fresh snowfall.
