Holiday Gifts: Gift certificates and Greenfield Recreation Department sweatshirts available for purchase in time for the holidays. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and can be used for all programs the Recreation Department offers, as well as season passes to the swim area. Forest green hooded sweatshirts with Poet Seat Tower recreation logo on front chest are also available in adult small to 2XL for $30.
Pee Wee Basketball: Registration for Pee Wee Basketball, grades Kindergarten to 2 is open. Learn the fundamentals of the game through skill building drills and scrimmages. Pee Wee will be held Thursday nights, Jan. 5 through March 9. Cost is $35 for residents, $40 for non-residents. Registration deadline is Dec. 30. A $5 late fee will be added for all late registrations.
Winter Break Vacation Week: Still accepting late registrations for Winter Break Vacation Week, a fun-filled week of activities, games and outdoor fun for your child grades Kindergarten through 7. This program takes place at the Youth Center, 20 Sanderson St. from Tuesday, Dec. 27, through Friday, Dec. 30 (half day Friday). Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with early and late care available. Walking field trips to Beacon Field for sledding, skating and snow fun. Lunch, afternoon snack and drink must be sent with child. Morning snack provided. Children also must bring appropriate winter clothing (boots, hats, gloves, etc). $100 for residents, $125 nonresidents. Additional fees for early and late care. A $25 late fee will be added for all registrations as the sign-up deadline has passed.
Winter Carnival: Get ready for an Arctic Blast. Save the date for Winter Carnival 2017, Feb. 3 to 5. Light up the night by decorating your vehicle with lights for the annual Parade of Lights. Contact the Recreation Department for more information and a registration form at 413-772-1553. The Recreation Department is also seeking ice carvers for the annual downtown Ice Sculpture Walk.
