ORANGE — Two women were killed in a crash on Route 2 in Templeton early Saturday morning.
Information provided by Witty’s Funeral Home in Orange indicated that cousins Victoria Riley, 21, and Callie Riley, 23, both from Orange, died in the crash. Witty’s is handling the arrangements for Callie Riley.
According to State Police, two women died in a crash around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday at the Otter River overpass in Templeton. The police declined to confirm the identities of the women.
A 2010 Mercedes was traveling east on Route 2 when the car went off the road and hit a bridge abutment, according to police. The car then rolled over and became engulfed in flames.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
The Templeton Fire Department responded and extinguished the vehicle. Templeton EMS, Templeton Police and Mass DOT also responded.
