Deer kill
Greg Dekoschak shot his second deer of the season on Thursday with a 99-pound, 4-pointer he checked into Overwatch Outpost in Charlemont.
The Charlemont resident’s claim to fame this season was not the average-sized deer he checked on Thursday, but rather the 220-pound, 8-pointer he bagged during archery season on Nov. 2, which currently leads the pool at Overwatch, which goes to the heaviest deer shot on the season.
Overwatch reported deer from earlier in the week as well, including a 164-pound, 8-pointer by Bernard Hopkins III of Hawley.
Grrr Gear in Orange had just one check on Thurdsay, and also reported three checks from Wednesday, including a 130-pound doe shot by Kevin Rich of Orange.
