Kyle LaClaire of Leverett took home the prized buck on Tuesday with his 182-pound, 9-pointer he checked into Grrr Gear in Orange late Tuesday afternoon.

Local checking stations saw 17 deer come through on Tuesday, including 11 at Grrr Gear. Scott Coy of Orange brought in a 152-pound, 4-point buck, while Benjamin Purrington of Richmond, N.H. checked a 133-pound, 4-pointer.

Bitzer Hatchery in Montague had three checks on the day including a 152-pound, 5-pointer from Kyle Dobias of Colrain, and a 148-pound, 6-pointer from Matthew Deane of Bernardston, who checked a pair of deer on the day. His other was a 99-pound, 3-point buck.

Shawn MacDonald of Leverett scored the biggest rack of the day with the 10-point, 145-pound buck he checked into Sunderland Hatchery, one of three deer checked in Sunderland on the day.

Some of the weekend results were unavailable and The Recorder apologizes for any missed checks. Christopher Bailey of Greenfield checked a nice buck into Bitzer Hatchery over the weekend with his 147-pound, 7-pointer, while Drew Haerer of Charlemont checked a 138-pound, 9-point buck into Gould’s Sugarhouse in Shelburne over the weekend.

Tumbling Tigers 

Margarette Howland won bars (8.1), beam (7.8), floor (8.1), All Around (32.4), and tied teammate Safiya Yaseen for first on vault (8.4) in the XCEL Silver 10-year-old Division for the Greenfield YMCA Tumbling Tigers during a three-team meet against Keene, N.H., and Clark Memorial over the weekend in Keene, N.H.

Safiya was second on the bars (7.65) and floor (8.0) and third on the beam and all-around. Ariana Miller placed second on the vault (8.25), floor (8.0), beam (7.6), and all-around (31.35), and third on the bars.

Cassie Cloutier won the vault (8.6) and beam (8.7), and placed second on the floor (8.45) and all-around (33.55) to lead the 11-year-old division. Aiden Wall won the floor (8.65) and all-around (33.85), and placed second on the bars (8.9), and third on the vault and beam. Haylee Tuttle won the bars (9.1), placed second on the vault (8.35) and was third on the floor and all-around.

Abby Shaw won the vault (8.45), beam (8.0) and all-around (33.25), and placed second on the bars (8.8) and the floor (8.0) in the 12-year-old division. Soriya Noeun won the floor (8.3) and placed third on vault, bars, beam and all-around. Phoebe Broussard won the bars (9.0) and was second on the vault (8.3), beam (7.5) and all-around (31.6), and third on the floor.

At Level 3, Laura Stebbins was second on the floor (8.25) and third all-around at the 9-year-old division, while Umi Burns was second on the vault (8.5), bars, beam (7.2), floor (8.3) and all-around (30.85).
