1:42 p.m. — Reporting person says she left her purse in the cart at Hannaford Market, and it was stolen; she wanted it on record in case something turns up.

9:23 p.m. — Pelham Police requesting a K-9 unit for a drug sniff at a vehicle on Route 202 at Amherst Road, assistance provided.

Greenfield, Nov. 30

9:27 a.m. — Breaking-and-entering attempt was reported on Wells Street and an officer spoke with the resident who said damage was done to the apartment door was believed to have been an attempted breaking and entering yesterday between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Officer on scene was advised of old and new damage to the door, report issued.

9:40 a.m. — Caller reports someone stole her husband’s wheelchair out of their apartment building, and is now in the Salvation Army with it; officer sent and the subject said he borrowed this “uncle’s” wheelchair for a joyride; wheelchair recovered by another person prior to officers arrival; information was taken from the suspect. Officer spoke with the subject who stated that another man threatened to, “kill her for being a rat,” when she said she would call the police; information given to her, to press charges, if she wishes.

10:50 a.m. — Accident with injuries at School and Pleasant streets; Fire Department and officers sent; vehicles were a Jeep Sport and a Ram pickup truck, there were injuries, but nothing on the log to indicate anyone taken to the hospital. Reports filed.

11:03 a.m. — Fraud reported by a caller who said a person cashed her work check without the reporting person’s signature; officer to call back, and spoke with the reporting person who said she had recently worked for the involved person as a PCA (personal care attendant) through Stavros; the reporting person had not received a paycheck, and contacted Stavros, and was informed the check was mailed out, and cashed; the reporting person had no additional information, she will contact Stavros for additional information and documentation, and will then contact the officer for further action.

11:23 a.m. — Accident reported at Sigda’s Flower Shop on High Street; officer found that an unattended box truck, not in park, rolled out of the Greenfield Farmer’s Exchange lot, down across High Street, into Sigda’s building; No major damage, but the building inspector was also called to the site, and the situation was under investigation.

12:23 p.m. — Larceny reported by a walk-in from Pond Street who says items were stolen from her apartment; an officer spoke with the woman who said some lighters, a box of checks, and set of spare keys were missing from the apartment over the last couple of days; report issued. Under investigation.

Montague, Nov. 30

8:19 a.m. — Shoplifting, reported at Food City on Avenue A, where the caller say the person involved reportedly stole a package of bacon, and put it in his jacket; a white male, in his 40s, last seen with a backwards baseball-type hat, and black jacket and jeans; he is still in the store in the meat aisle the male was located in front of Rite Aid; the bacon breakfast sandwich was recovered (cost $5.49) and he was verbally trespassed from Food City.

11:05 a.m. — Accident with property damage on Old Northfield Road at Turners Falls Road; two vehicles involved; no injuries reported. No smoke or fluids; officer to investigate.

Greenfield, Nov. 30

4:49 p.m. — Accident reported at or near Dollar General on Federal Street, where the caller says there is no injuries; officer sent, and investigating.

7:24 p.m. — Report of possible overdose at a Federal Street location where the caller says the 26-year-old is reportedly unconscious, but is breathing; caller advised he attempted sternum rub, but with no response; call transferred to Medcare, and they were on scene at 7:32, along with Fire Department assistance; determined to be heroin overdose. The subject was taken to the Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

9:21 p.m. — Accident reported on Laurel Street; Fire Department and officer responding, single-car accident, tow requested, officer investigating, and arrested was Justin Edward Shaida, 28, of Deerfield Street, Greenfield, charged with operating under the influence of liquor, possessing an open container of alcohol, operating recklessly so as to endanger, failure to drive in the right lane, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and second charge of operating under the influence of liquor, with BAC 0.08 or greater.

9:24 p.m. — Disturbance reported on Union Street where the caller reports a drunken fight in the driveway there; officers found there was no fighting; the male was intoxicated, and the female was trying to get him home from the bar; the male was yelling because he fell in the rain, and couldn’t get up; both people made it to their apartment.

Orange, Nov. 30

9:25 a.m. — Walk-in to the station says he had placed a sign that read, “Quiet Sycamore, please call,” and on the other side read, “Wood,” he stated that he had chained it to a tree, but was unsure if he may have placed the sign on someone’s property, he was advised the incident would be on record.

3:56 p.m. — Control reports a call from West Main Street regarding a female who is out of control again; both units responded, and she agreed to settle down and they will bring her back to her program tomorrow.

3:57 p.m. — Neighborhood disturbance on West Main Street from where Control took a report of a male and female disturbance at this location; officer responded, and spoke with the couple who were arguing on arrival; both were advised of the complaint, and to quiet down; neither claimed anything physical.

7:33 p.m. — Report of an accident on East Main Street where there is a two-vehicle crash in the center of town, but with no injuries; on officer’s arrival the officer found a vehicle struck a parked car; report taken.

Greenfield, Dec. 1

9:01 a.m. — Malicious destruction of property reported on Devens Street; officer to investigate and found the flat left front tire, but no signs of tire being slashed, some air is still in the tire, no damage to the other tires.

9:05 a.m. — Report of a motor vehicle theft on Miles Street near the Energy Park, officer sent, and found a student from France forgot where she parked her vehicle last night and thought it was stolen; officer located the vehicle and the student was transported back to her car.

11:19 a.m. — Report of an overdose at Wendy’s on Federal Street, call was transferred to Medcare, Fire Department ambulance and an officer, but found not to be as reported; the female was ill, and she was taken to the hospital.

1:48 p.m. — Officer came upon a man screaming and standing on the side of Olive Street across from the John W. Olver Transit Center; he reports having a bad day and wanting to go to the Recovery Project; courtesy transport given to Federal and Osgood streets.

3:28 p.m. — Accident at the Stop & Shop parking lot on French King Highway where the reporting person says it is a two-vehicle accident involving an FRTA bus, but no injuries reported, and dispatch for FRTA had no further information; officer found that one vehicle failed to yield to an oncoming traffic when it exited the parking lot, and the second vehicle sideswiped the first vehicle’s front bumper; warning citation issued to the operator of the first vehicle; no injuries to any involved people.

4:23 p.m. — Officers assisting with a male yelling profanity creating a disturbance at/near the Green Fields Market on Main Street; the male is being summoned to court for disorderly conduct,

5:05 p.m. — Hazard reported on Wisdom Place where the caller says a big branch is hanging on wires at this location, but no loss of power at this time; officer advised this was not an emergency or hazard, and call was placed to Eversource and they were advised. A Section 12 was filed.

5:19 p.m. — Caller states three or four people were trying to push open the doors to the gym at the Academy of Early Learning at Place Terrace; area search led to negative result, and checked the exterior of the property and spoke with the staff, and all appears to be secure.

5:54 p.m. — Caller from the Big Y Foods location on the Mohawk Trail states she saw a vehicle, a gray Toyota Camry, hit another parked vehicle, a tan sedan, in the parking lot and left toward Route 2; officers searched the area, but were unable to locate a vehicle.

7;51 p.m. — Caller from Applebee’s on the Mohawk Trail states a highly intoxicated male keeps coming into the establishment and after asking him to leave multiple times, he has smashed a bottle in the parking lot, and entered the restaurant with outside alcohol as well; he is an older white male wearing a red jacket with white shirt and blue jeans. The male was located in his room at the Roadway Inn, and was advised to stay home and not return to the restaurant; he is being summoned to court for possession of a Class B drug.
