Greenfield Recorder readers, do not worry. I am not going to waste your time trying to convince you to change your mind if you happen to support the Dakota Access Pipeline, but to those who understand the significant impact this atrocity has on the environment and people in its path, please join me in a really easy action to express our disapproval. TD Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citigroup have extended lines of credit to Energy Transfer Partners, the parent corporation of the Dakota Pipeline. This afternoon, I’ll be closing my accounts with TD Bank and Citigroup, with a letter of explanation, and transferring all of my business to local banks. By this action, I have three goals: to stand in solidarity with the movement to resist exploitation, to vote with my wallet to remove — even a little — money from the project, and to publicly call attention to the financial institution funding the exploitation of land and families. I ask each reader to please consider doing the same this afternoon.
