CHARLEMONT — A weekend spent in a Brooklyn loft, a jewel-toned orginal quilt, a cane-style glass bowl and prime tickets for next season’s Red Sox games are among the 200 offerings at next week’s annual Cornucopia Auction and Social, Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Academy at Charlemont campus.
Tickets, which may be purchased online, are $20 each. This event provides a night out with food, drink and an array of high quality silent and live auction items to bid on. The evening provides Academy families and the greater community an opportunity to come together to celebrate what is special about where they live, in addition to generating financial support for the school. Many of the most valuable offerings start out with minimum bids worth half the price.
Beyond spalded wooden bowls, works of art and even a sled dog ride for two, auction goers can bid on restaurant gift certificates and certificates for local shows and retail shops.
Class of 2013 Academy graduate Ben Miller returns for his second year as auctioneer. Also this year, childcare is available with pizza, crafts and a movie for children on campus. The childcare is $10 per family.
