The complete disregard of all-terrain vehicles and hunters by the politicians and representatives walking in the soon-to-be Northfield State Forest, as reported in The Recorder’s Oct. 31 Local section, is unacceptable.

Two of the most traditional uses of this parcel of land is and always will be ATVs and hunters. Who do you think has been maintaining those trails, since they just about got landlocked from property owners closing trails, and the snowmobile use became extremely limited? ATV owners!

I personally have been clearing these trails my whole life, and guess what was assisting my task the whole time?

You got it, an ATV. It

is disgusting that people who move in from other areas think they can disrupt what traditions we have in place and have had for 50-plus years.

There is nothing “amazing” about this. It cannot be called a legacy without inclusion of hunters and ATVs.
