Thank you for your story on the High School Equivalency graduation: “Getting Back on the Education Train” (Oct 24).
I want to offer a correction. Greenfield Community College (GCC) does not offer high school equivalency classes; The Literacy Project does that.
GCC administers the state-certified high school equivalency test called the HiSET test. The Literacy Project prepares approximately 400 adult students each year in Franklin and Hampshire County to take the HiSET test.
This year more than half of the students at the graduation ceremony at GCC studied for the test at The Literacy Project classes. We are proud to serve community providing free access to education and job preparation for all adults.
