I am writing to express my strong opposition to the addition of fluoride to the town water supply. While some of Greenfield’s children may need extra help to ensure their good oral health, fluoridating the entire water supply for every resident and business is not the way to address this issue.

There are legitimate concerns about the toxicity of fluoride, and many town businesses rely on our excellent water for their products.

Better access to dental health resources in schools, better education and making topical fluoride treatments easily available are just some examples of alternative ways to improve children’s dental health.

As the parent of two young children, I would be extremely uncomfortable with their constantly being exposed to fluoride whether they need it or not.
