Over 130 Massachusetts farmers support state ballot Question 3, because they know that it is the right thing to do for farm animals, for the vitality of family farms and for the benefit of their customers.
Question 3, which would ban extreme confinement, will ensure that farm animals are healthier and have a better quality of life.
As a livestock owner, I have a responsibility to ensure that my animals live a life that is as comfortable, healthy and stress-free as possible.
It is not simply a priority. It is my highest priority.
As consumers of animal products, we have a collective responsibility to support farms that uphold the highest possible standards of animal welfare. We must do this both with our dollars and on the ballot.
It is time we elevate the standard in animal-based agriculture, and Question 3 will help do that. I am proud to be one of many family farmers — who care about their animals and their customers — to support this initiative, and I look forward to voting “Yes” on 3 on Election Day.
