MONTPELIER, Vt. — It appears that if you want to become an assistant judge in Vermont’s Washington County, you Otto be named Otto.

Gov. Peter Shumlin announced on Wednesday he had appointed Otto Trautz as a new assistant judge, replacing the retiring Otto Kinzel. Non-lawyer assistant, or side, judges help law-trained judges with some court cases and administer the county budget.
