Levin Prondecki rushed for three touchdowns and a two-point conversion as part of a 65-yard performance and the Franklin County Bulldogs advanced to the Suburban League Junior Division youth football semifinals with a 20-0 win over Ludlow Sunday afternoon in Ludlow.
Luc Belhumeur added a conversion run and 45 yards rushing, and Noah Ausikaitis rushed for 57 yards.
Ian Simpson led the defense with eight tackles, while Prondecki and Belhumeur each finished with five. Ausikaitis, Joseph White and Gabe Tomasi each had four tackles, Jonathan Breor, Tanner Rowe and David Damkoehler made two tackles apiece, and JJ Shepard and Hugh Cyhowski finished with one tackle each.
Peewee Bulldogs advance
Joaquin Rubio rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown Sunday and the Franklin County Bulldogs advanced to the SL Peewee Division semifinals with a 12-0 victory over South Hadley at Cronk Field in Belchertown.
Tyler Yetter also scored a rushing touchdown in the win. Shaun Turner rushed for 10 yards, and Caleb Johnston added three yards on two totes.
Rubio finished with six tackles and one sack to help the defense pitch the shutout, and Logan Moore made seven tackles. Johnston had five tackles and three sacks, and Alex Schreiber had three tackles and four sacks. Zavyey Nieves made six tackles, Yetter and Zaydrien Alamed each made three tackles, Turner and Matthew Richotte made a pair of tackles, and Rylin Koscinski, Aiden Dodge, Jonathan Ainsworth, Gavin Arsenault and Brenton Russell finished with one tackle apiece.
Frontier falls in OT
Quabbin scored in overtime to eliminate Frontier, 20-14, in a SL Peewee football quarterfinal game Sunday in Hardwick.
Frontier lead 14-6 late in the game but Quabbin tied it up in the final seconds to force OT.
Teddy Cyr finished with 58 rushing yards, 51 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in the loss. CJ Hannum rushed for 17 yards and threw for 54 yards, and Delaney Fifield caught a two-point conversion pass. Garrett Dredge rushed for 22 yards, and Lawson Landmark rushed for 18.
Kaden James finished with eight tackles to lead the defense, and Harry LaFlamme had seven tackles. Hannum and Jacob Rice each had six tackles, and Dredge made five tackles. Landmark, Cyr and Ryan Payeur each had three tackles, while Delaney Fifield, Julian Rodriguez, Levi Pickert, and Zack Haskell each had one tackle.
Valley Storm 12s win title
Jocelyn Mettey struck out 10 Sunday to lead the Valley Storm to a 4-1 win over Agawam in the championship game of the Easthampton Fall Ball 12-and-Under Division Softball Tournament.
Bella Benoit tripled, and Mettey had two hits in the win. Kameryn Dearborn, Brielle Widelo and McKenzie McCarthy each added a hit.
• Also Sunday, Dearborn struck out 15 in six innings and the Valley Storm defeated Southampton, 7-4.
Abby McClaflin had two singles and a triple in the win, and Benoit belted a pair of home runs. Dodge and Mettey each added two hits.
• On Saturday, Widelo struck out 10 and Dearborn struck out three to combine on a shutout as the Valley Storm dumped Chicopee 2, 15-0.
Dearborn and Lauren Champigny each tripled in the win, while Olivia Stafford, Ainslee Flynn and Kaitlin Trudeau each had a hit.
Valley Storm 16s champs
Hailey Bigwood struck out seven in the circle Sunday and the Valley Storm defeated Easthampton, 5-3, in the Easthampton Fall Ball 16-and-Under Division championship game.
Lexi Lacy tripled and scored once in the win, and Hailey Bogusz scored twice. Mandy Fuller and Kathryn Hioe each scored once, and Bigwood added a hit.
• Also Sunday, the Valley Storm 16s defeated the Valley Storm 14s, 5-3, in semifinal action.
Bigwood struck out 15 to earn the win, while Bogusz had two doubles and the two RBIs to win the game. Gabby Palmisano tripled, Lindsay Whittman singled, and Meagan Quinlan, Mandy Fuller and Kate Garcia each scored once.
Gianna Conte struck out six and also registered two hits in the loss. Alexis Farrick tripled and drove in a run, and Olivia Deane singled. Ally Markowski, Olivia Whittier and Reagan Dupree each scored once.
• On Saturday, Bigwood struck out eight as the Valley Storum dumped Westfield 1, 15-0.
Ashley Reynolds singled and scored three times, while Fuller had two hits and scored twice. Garcia had one hit and scored twice, Markowski and Maddie Fifield each had a hit and a run scored, and Lacy and Bogusz each scored twice.
Dillon’s unbeaten
Franklin County Hockey Association Dillon Chevrolet scored seven times in the second period to defeat the Springfield Capitals, 9-0, in a Greater Springfield League Bantam Division game Sunday at Cyr Arena in Springfield.
Kyle Barnes finished with two goals and three assists in the win, while Sam Battisti had two goals and two assists. Jacob Bryant added a pair of goals, and Porter Clancy had one goal and one assist. Tony Wozny scored once, and Derek Lenois had an assist. Cooper Barton played well defensively in front of Jordyn LaVallee, who made 16 saves for the shutout.
• On Saturday, Hunter Haughey and Barnes each scored twice and had one assist as Dillon Chevy tied Brattleboro, 6-6, in Brattleboro, Vt.
Bryant had a goal and two assists for Dillon’s, and Clancy had a goal and an assist. LaVallee finished with 26 saves. Battisti and Steven Parkinson played well defensively.
Midgets fall
Bryce Jordan scored on an assist from Michael McGoldrick Sunday but FCHA suffered a 7-1 setback to Nonotuck in a GSL Midget Division hockey game in Greenfield.
Nate Pelletier stopped 25 shots in the loss.
• On Saturday, McGoldrick and Camden Barnes each scored goals but FCHA suffered a 7-2 loss to Westfield in Greenfield.
Kyle Barnes, TJ Burden and Jordan each had one assist, and Pelletier stopped 21 shots.
J & J Hockey splits
Ben Carlan had two goals and two assists as FCHA J & J Hockey defeated Brattleboro 6-4 in GSL East Division Peewee action Sunday at Nelson Withington Arena in Brattleboro.
Billy Woodall and Jamison Baleno each had a goal and an assist in the win, and Roger Grondin and Chris Phelps each had a goal. Gabe Voudren had two assists. Aydyn Clayton had one assist, and Josh Bordeaux made 31 saves in net.
• On Saturday, Voudren scored on an assist from Bordeaux but J & J Hockey suffered a 2-1 loss to Ludlow at Smead Arena.
Will Cowie finished with 10 saves in the loss.
Dillon Vipers win
Trevor Kuchieski scored with 9 minutes, 19 seconds left in the game and the FCHA Dillon Chevrolet Green Vipers defeated Amherst, 5-2, in GSL Squirt action Sunday in Greenfield.
Shane Prusak and Matt Lavoine each had a goal and an assist in the win. Brodie Gagne and Matt Provencal added goals, and Braeden Killeen added an assist. Trevor Parkinson had 26 saves in net. Lila Roche, MJ Paulin, Hunter Smith, Jayson Smith, Kameron Topmkins and Dylan Archer played well on defense.
Healy has big day
Senior captain Shea Healy scored a pair of goals Saturday to lead fifth ranked Stonehill College to a 3-2 win over Pace College in the regular-season field hockey finale for both teams.
The Greenfield native and Pioneer Valley Regional School graduate scored the lone goal of the first half, and then got the eventual game-winner early in the second half.
Stonehill finished in a three-way tie for second in the Northeast 10 standings and advances as the third seed in the conference tournament. The Skyhawks open up with a first-round matchup against Assumption on Tuesday.
UMass hockey falls
Boston College scored the first five goals of the game and held off a late UMass surge to earn a 7-4 Hockey East victory Saturday night at the Mullins Center in Amherst.
UMass scored all four of its goals in the third period. The Minutemen were outshot 36-18.
UMass went just 2-for-9 on the power play in the loss and allowed a pair of shorthanded goals. The Eagles were 2-for-5 on the power play.
Austin Plevy, Patrick Lee, Ryan Badger and Kurt Keats each scored for the Minutemen (2-4-0), who host UConn Friday night at 7.
Football
Phillips Andover Academy defeated Deerfield Academy, 44-22, in a prep football game Saturday in Andover.
Deerfield fell to 3-3 on the season.
Soccer
Deerfield suffered a 1-0 loss to Andover in a boys’ prep soccer game Saturday in Andover.
Deerfield is 6-5-2 on the year.

Andover won three straight sets to defeat Deerfield, 3-0, in a girls’ prep volleyball match Saturday in Andover.
Field hockey
Andover defeated Deerfield, 2-0, in a prep field hockey game Friday night in Andover.
CRVSL results
Toby Sol scored twice Sunday but the Mount Hermon Wolves suffered a 7-4 loss to Sunderland in a Connecticut River Valley Soccer League Under-13 Division game at the Lower Fields in Gill.
Joey Brook and Bronson Schloezel each added one goal in the loss.
• In Under-11 action, Chuck Pierce and Charlie Kinnersley each scored but Brattleboro Storm A dropped a 3-2 decision to Mount Hermon Wolves.
