Trump bashing … OK, so I get it that Mr. Donald Trump made some crude remarks and used nasty words. It’s been all over the news for the past five days. Do I approve? No, I don’t usually use profanity.

But approval or disapproval is not the issue here. In the Wednesday, Oct.12, Recorder at the bottom of the front page is the Associated Press article, “Trump’s ‘grab ’em’ comment unleashes national conversation.” The article is then continued on page A6, covering most of the page.

OK, so women are talking about their sexual assaults. What I find disturbing is the media’s apparent need to keep publishing the content of the tape, repeating constantly for days now the nasty words. How is that helping, other than continuing to put Mr. Trump in a bad light (which The Recorder does nearly every day)?

The article says, “ … A presidential candidate’s boastful description. …” He was not a presidential candidate when these things were said; plus, his privacy was invaded.

So let’s suppose the mainstream media is successful in painting Trump in such a bad light that Hillary is elected president and welcomes into our country all the refugees she’s saying she will. Obviously, not all will be law abiding. How much do you suppose sexual assaults might increase with these additional men, some of whom would be from the Middle East?

We have heard and seen how some of them treat women.

In these last weeks before the election, perhaps all media outlets could put more emphasis on the important issues plaguing our country, to enable us to be better informed to make an educated choice for president, rather than continue to point out the personal flaws of the candidates, especially Mr. Trump’s.
