Great Hall Art Display — “Migration: Connecting through Art and Culture of the Americas. Now through Oct. 29. Guatemalan art display curated by local artists.

Deerfield River Watershed Association — In Greenfield on Tuesday at 7 p.m., the Deerfield River Watershed Association will host an informative talk about dams on Deerfield River. Jason Canaday of Colrain will present on the details of how TransCanada manages water through a series of dams on the river. Mr. Canaday was the operator at Harriman Dam on the day that Tropical Storm Irene caused severe flooding throughout much of Western Massachusetts and Vermont.

The talk will be at Four Rivers Charter School, 248 Colrain Road in Greenfield. Refreshments at 6:30 p.m. Talk begins at 7 p.m.

Quabbin Wildlife — On Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center, enjoy an evening of beautiful wildlife images with Dale Monette, who specializes in nature photography, wildlife, and landscapes. Dale will share his unique familiarity with the land and the animals of Massachusetts and the Quabbin watershed through his photographs. An expert in the nature and history of the Quabbin Reservoir, Dale spent the last 30 years with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation working at Quabbin as an educator and naturalist. Since retiring, Dale has spent thousands of hours photographing and observing wildlife. This program at Northfield Mountain will feature stories and photographs of the Quabbin and the animals that live in this unique watershed. From hummingbirds to loons, from bears to moose, come join us to see what Dale and his cameras see as the animals go about their lives throughout the four seasons in this local watershed.

 Animal ABC’s — A is for antlers found on moose and deer, B is for beaver and C is for coyote, never fear! Join naturalist and educator, Dawn Marvin Ward at Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10:30 a.m. until noon for a family program focusing on native wildlife. This fun and engaging morning will include hands-on activities, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration and animal artifacts. Children and adults will enjoy learning together about adaptations as animals prepare for winter. This program takes place both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) and is geared toward families with children ages 10 and younger, although all ages are welcome! The fee is $5 per child.
