10:50 a.m. — A blue Autobike brand mountain bike was found at Wendy’s, on Federal Street. The caller stated it had been left outside for two weeks.
5:33 p.m. — An accident without injuries occurred at the Interstate 91 rotary between a gray 2010 Hyundai Accent and a tan 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. The Department of Public Works was called to remove the glass, and both vehicles were able to drive away safely.
10:56 p.m. — An accident occurred in front of CVS Pharmacy. A black 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was stopped at the stop sign on Garfield Street. Its driver yielded to the first vehicle traveling south on Federal Street, but failed to see the second vehicle behind it, a gray 2015 Civic. Both the operator and passenger in the Civic were transported by Medcare to Baystate Franklin Medical Center with minor injuries, and the Greenfield Fire Department responded for a fluid spill. The operator of the Cruze was cited for failure to yield, and both vehicles were towed.
11:42 a.m. — A caller on Chapman Street reported a person down. The woman, who was intoxicated, was transported by Medcare to Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
12:42 p.m. — A caller at Barton Heights reported BB holes in his vehicle.
9:46 p.m. — Accident reported on Davis Street, two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported. A Honda Civic struck a parked vehicle; report filed.
11:27 p.m. — Caller from Barton Heights states she heard two “heart-wrenching screams,” and believes one about a half hour ago, and the other about 10 minutes ago. The caller thinks it came from a nearby residence, but isn’t sure; officers sent and spoke with the reporting person and they state they heard two separate screams coming from the vicinity described, and they expressed concerns that someone there is in need of help, due to an elderly female at one of the other homes and another being vacant; officer spoke with the reporting person who said they had no other ideas where it was coming from; officer then spoke with residents at the house specified and they stated they heard the same thing in the same time frame, and believes the noise came from an animal.
1:58 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Bradford Drive where the reporting person says there is a vehicle in the lot with its lights on, front is smashed, tire is blown, airbags deployed; the reporting person isn’t sure if the vehicle was towed there, and the vehicle isn’t occupied. Deerfield Police then advised the vehicle was involved in an accident earlier in their town, and it was towed to the residence. Vehicle was found to be leaking fluids on to the ground, and lights are still on; Greenfield Fire Department was then requested
3:08 a.m. — Disturbance on School Street where a female showed up at the residence there and was pounding on the road, and ripped her son out of the house, assaulted him, and bit her, (the caller) and wouldn’t leave; officer inquired, and was advised the son is bleeding from the chest; Medcare came to the scene, and peace was restored
9:01 a.m. — Disturbance at Copy Cat Print Shop on Main Street where an officer located the person who was sitting on the sidewalk, not causing a disturbance on the officer’s arrival; the male was advised of the complaint and he was moved along.
12:56 p.m. — Caller from Dollar General on Federal Street reports a shoplifting incident; officer to investigate, and found it wasn’t as reported and the customer left on officer’s arrival.
7:22 p.m. — Disturbance at Family Dollar Store on Colrain Road where the reporting person says there is a domestic in progress, involving a female in a green station wagon and a male in a black sedan; they are parked on the side of the Family Dollar; he has her boxed in, and is at her window yelling at her; the black sedan has damage to the back on it; in the end it was found to be a loud discussion over money.
10:48 p.m. — Disturbance reported at the Franklin County Emergency Shelter on Wells Street where the staff reports a female is out of control in the women’s dorm area; the staff has asked her to leave, and she refused; she has no weapons, and nothing physical is happening at this time; the female was being loud in the shelter, and was asked to leave, just for the night but was told she could return at 9 a.m.; the female, with all her belongings, was taken to the Town Hall without incident.
11:27 p.m. — Despondent person reported; caller, who states he got a phone call from his son’s girlfriend who stated the involved male was in a bathroom cutting himself; the reporting person was also advised that his son was intoxicated, and that he (the reporting person) was en route up to his son’s house on Shelburne Road; officer reports the male was being transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center by Medcare with officer following; arrested was Timothy William McMahon, 21, of Shelburne Road, Greenfield, charged with intimidating a witness, and assault and battery on family/household member.
1:06 p.m. — Traffic hazard reported on Greenfield Road and Greenfield Cross Road where the caller reports 20 or more chickens in the road; the reporting person attempted to make contact with the owner, but to no avail; the reporting person says the chickens came up to his vehicle as he tried to drive by; an officer went and knocked on the door of the residence of the people believed to own the chickens, but it appears no one is home; the officer advised the chickens are out of the road, for now; the chickens appeared to be following each other, so when one started going in a particular direction the rest followed suit; the chickens have returned to their coop for now. ACO asked to follow up on after the holiday.
