In honor of “St.” Francis, that splendid and much-misunderstood pagan, a number of local churches invite the public to their “Blessing of the Animals” ceremonies, where “All of god’s creatures are invited and welcomed.”
How many human animals will seek a blessing for the sentimentalized animal slaves they refer to as “pets” and then sit down for a meal made from the tortured, slaughtered and butchered bodies of other, apparently un-blessed animals?
How is it that these churches continue to perpetuate a kind of moral confusion so egregious that it can only be called rank hypocrisy?
